In September 2019 the documentary film Nomad: In the Footsteps of Bruce Chatwin, by Werner Herzog, was broadcast by the BBC.

Chatwin also edited a collection of his journalism, which was published as What Am I Doing Here (1989).

The interesting characters, beautiful language, observations on life and what you learn about human beings when they live together as a community, it’s all in this little book. The book was nominated for the Thomas Cook Travel Award, but Chatwin requested that it be withdrawn from consideration, saying the work was fictional.
